As I mentioned last week, thanks to you and our incredible supporters, we have now reached our £6 million target for the Golden Gift Appeal! We would like to acknowledge the wonderful organisations and donors, such as yourself, who have given significant support to the Appeal. As such, we have been working with a local artist to create a wall of recognition (picture above) which is mounted on the large curved wall opposite the lifts in the new Welcome Centre at the Bristol Royal Infirmary.
We would be delighted if you were happy to add your name to this exciting feature. If so, your name would appear in one of the coloured panels as ‘‘Thornbury Ukeaholics”, but please do let me know if you prefer an alternative, or if you would like anyone else to be included alongside you. Of course, you may prefer your donation to be anonymous, in which case your support would be collectively acknowledged in a tile that remembers all anonymous donors to the Appeal.
With kind regards
Thanks to everyone who played yesterday, as Stan our front man said "it was a grand afternoon".
Many thanks again Stan for your performance, compere, singing, uke playing ...and now drumming! Man of many hidden talents - what's next? Watch this space.
Apologies to Steve and Brian regarding the power, not had electricity that long in Rangeworthy, we're still getting used to it.
See you all Thursday.
What a superb turnout yesterday, and a great set list (thanks to Joe and Steve). All seemed to go well, except for a few minor hiccups that I am sure we can easily iron out in the next couple of weeks. All the band looked comfortable performing, not too serious and able to have a laugh, the main thing.
Chris, our liaison man with Above and Beyond will keep us informed with the info on the charity and possibly the next gig.
Thanks once again to you all for attending what I thought was a right grand afternoon.
See you Thursday.
All the best.
I have just received your cheque for £120, thank you so much. I had a quick look at your fundraising record today, did you know you have so far raised over £1,600, an incredible amount! Please do pass my thanks onto the rest of the band.
Thank you so much for the cheque! You guys are on a roll! When is your next performance?
That reminds me, last year all of your generous donations were allocated towards the Golden Gift Appeal and I am delighted to say we have now hit our target of 6 million pounds! Now that the appeal has come to an end we need a new home for your funds. Have you given any thought as to a hospital or specific area you would like to support?
I haven’t forgotten about the idea of performing at the BRI, which I love and I think would be a great success, I’m going to have a look into it next week so I’ll let you know as soon as possible. I just need to have a chat with the estates department at the trust and see if we can get permission.
